Banana Sorbet

1 cup sugar
3 cups water, divided
1 cup mashed banana (about 3)
1/2 tsp. yellow food coloring (optional)

In a medium saucepan, stir together sugar and 1 cup of water.  Bring to a boil, then remove from heat and refrigerate until cold.  Once cold, stir in two additional cups of water, bananas, and food coloring.  Pour into icecream maker and freeze according to manufacturers directions.  Freeze for a few hours to set.

    This is a "must try" recipe. It is so yummy and makes you feel like you are cheating on your diet. It is nice and creamy and I love it!
