Salsa Chicken and Black Bean Soup

2 cans black beans, drained and rinsed
1 lb. chicken breasts
4 cups chicken broth
1 cup mushrooms, sliced
1 cup frozen corn
16 oz. jar prepared salsa
1 1/2 tsp. cumin
1/2 cup sour cream (optional)
shredded cheddar cheese, avocado slices, cilantro (all optional)

Put the following ingredients into your crockpot in this order: beans, chicken, broth, mushrooms, corn, salsa, and cumin.  Stir, without disturbing the beans.  Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.  Shred chicken before serving.  If desired, stir in sour cream and other garnishings before serving.
