Chocolate Coconut Haystacks

2 cups sugar
1/3 cup cocoa
1/2 cup rice milk
1/2 cup margarine
3 cups oats
1 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
1/2 tsp. vanilla
dash of salt

In 2 quart saucepan, combine sugar, cocoa, milk, and margarine.  Bring to a full boil, stirring constantly.  Boil for 2 minutes.  Remove from heat and stir in remaining ingredients immediately.  Drop quickly by tablespoon onto wax paper.  Ready to eat when firm and set.
