1 tbsp. oil
2 shallots, diced
6 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tbsp. ginger root, chopped
1 1/2 lbs. ground meat
1/4 cup "soy" sauce
1 tbsp. chile sauce
1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1-2 heads butter lettuce, cored
2 cups hot cooked rice
2 shallots, diced
6 cloves garlic, chopped
2 tbsp. ginger root, chopped
1 1/2 lbs. ground meat
1/4 cup "soy" sauce
1 tbsp. chile sauce
1 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1-2 heads butter lettuce, cored
2 cups hot cooked rice
Heat oil in a large skillet. Add shallot, garlic, and ginger and saute about 2 minutes. Add ground meat to pan and brown and crumble. After about 2 minutes, add "soy" and chile sauces. Cook until sauce is mostly evaporated, about 5 minutes. Stir in chopped cilantro. To serve, put a few tablespoons of rice and of meat mixture to each lettuce leaf. Fold up like a taco and eat.
