4 cups oats
1 cup margarine, melted
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup honey/corn syrup (or combination)
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups chocolate chips/raisins/nuts, etc.
1 cup margarine, melted
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup honey/corn syrup (or combination)
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
2 cups chocolate chips/raisins/nuts, etc.
Preheat oven to 350. Pour melted margarine over the oats and mix. Add all other ingredients and mix well. Pour into 11x17 baking pan, sprayed with non-stick spray. Pat down with waxed paper. Bake for 15-25 minutes, depending on how chewy or crunchy you want them. When somewhat cool, pat down with wax paper again to make sure they are nice and compact. Cool and cut into bars.

If you use chocolate chips, some may melt into the granola bars. Still taste good and are nice and chewy. I would recommend honey over corn syrup.
