5 cups thinkly sliced, peeled, green tomatoes
1 cup raisins
1/4 cup orange juice
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 cup sugar
3 tbsp. flour
2 tsp. orange zest
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. allspice
double pie crust (homemade or store bought)

In a large saucepan, combine green tomatoes, raisins, orange juice, and lemon juice. Bring to a boil. Lower the heat and simmer, covered, for 5 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, remove the tomato slices and place in a bowl. In a small bowl, combine sugar, flour, orange zest, cinnamon, and allspice. Stir into the juice mixture. Bring to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook for 2 minutes or until thickened. Remove from heat. Gently stir in tomatoes. Cool for 10 minutes. Meanwhile, line a pie plate with one of the crusts. Pour tomato mixture into crust. Place other crust on top and cut slits in the top and crimp crust. Bake at 375 for 40-45 minutes or until crust is golden. Cool for 1 hour before serving.

I realize this sounds incredibly weird. And really, it kinda is. But it tastes good! If you have tons of leftover green tomatoes in your garden, you can use them up in this recipe. It tastes a lot like mincemeat pie. It is the texture of apple pie but it uses green tomatoes instead.
